“Fun Home” is a poignant and sharply observed musical that follows Alison Bechdel as she pieces together the puzzle of her past while trying to understand her complicated relationship with her father. Set within the walls of her family’s funeral home, the story moves fluidly between three stages of Alison’s life, her childhood fascination with her father’s world, her college awakening as she discovers her sexuality, and her adult reflections as a graphic novelist searching for truth.
