Alice follows a hurried White Rabbit and discovers that curiosity can take a girl much farther than expected. One tumble down a rabbit hole delivers her into Wonderland, where ordinary rules seem to have packed their bags and left town. Sizes change, conversations wander in circles, and getting a sensible answer becomes an adventure all its own. As Alice searches for a way home, she encounters the mischievous Cheshire Cat, the eccentric Mad Hatter, and a collection of characters who make even the simplest question feel wonderfully complicated. The Queen of Hearts adds another challenge to a place already overflowing with peculiar personalities. Adapted for the stage by Anne Coulter Martens from Lewis Carroll’s classic, this play turns a familiar childhood tale into a lively journey through imagination, confusion, and discovery. Alice must keep her wits while navigating a world that refuses to explain itself, even as her own sense of who she is begins to shift. Playful nonsense and curious encounters give the adventure its sparkle, while questions about identity and growing up provide something deeper beneath the delightful absurdity. In Wonderland, common sense deserves a holiday, too.
