Sutter Street Theatre - The Golden Bay Times

Five college friends head into the woods for what should be a relaxing getaway filled with laughter, adventure, and a little harmless mischief. Their destination is an isolated cabin, where the accommodations are questionable, the atmosphere is creepy, and the chances of getting a good night's sleep are practically nonexistent. Things take a decidedly unpleasant turn when the group discovers a mysterious book and accidentally unleashes an ancient evil with a particularly nasty attitude. Suddenly, their peaceful vacation becomes a ridiculous battle against supernatural forces, demonic possessions, and enough flying body parts to make even the bravest horror enthusiast reconsider camping. At the center of the madness is Ash, an ordinary young man who finds himself facing extraordinary circumstances with an increasingly unconventional collection of weapons. Inspired by the cult-classic Evil Dead films, this outrageously entertaining musical combines outrageous comedy, catchy songs, spectacularly messy special effects, and the sort of deliberately over-the-top horror that refuses to take itself seriously. With dancing demons, sarcastic dialogue, unexpected musical numbers, and plenty of theatrical surprises, Evil Dead The Musical transforms a terrifying woodland nightmare into a hilariously bloody celebration of everything audiences love about horror movies and musical theater.
